About the owner

Hi, my name is Monique Cardellini, also known as Luna Graystone.I used to do a small amount of freelance modelling and cosplay in my youth. I have always had a love for fun and colorful subcultures such as cosplay, raves, goth aesthetic, lolita and now mermaiding! I am a self-taught seamstress with about 25 years of experience behind me. I enjoy making plush dolls, quilts and clothing. I always wanted to add a spark of more colour into the World and cater to a niche demographic. What better way to achieve this goal than by creating mermaid tails! A great place for inspiration is the Ocean itself!

Mermaid TailsApparel

In 2019 my start up mermaid business was called Mermade Tails In South Australia. I had mainly focused on custom tails and monofin resales. However, as time went on, I learnt and evolved gaining new skills and techniques. In 2022 I decided to leave the original name behind and move forward into the future with Whimsydale Mermaid! MTISA is now my subsidiary business which offers fabric mermaid tail sewing services, fabric tail repairs and monofin vinyl casing cutting services. My main focus with Whimsydale Mermaid is releasing new unique tail designs in standard sizing's monthly and making them readily available for everyone. I also offer monofins and custom mermaid tails, with customizable accessories and apparel!

Our History

How Whimsydale Mermaid & Mermade Tails In South Australia Came to be

In 2019, a few months before Mercon Australia 2019, I really wanted to attend Mercon but felt I wouldn’t be able to gain the full experience without a mermaid tail. I asked a fellow professional mermaid friend of many years, Mermaid Ilyena, about some options and we came to the conclusions of making fabric tails to be easily transportable. Due to minimum fabric order requirements Mermaid Salacia and Mermaid Mizuko came on board to have their silicone tails redesigned into fabric form. And thus, thrusted me into the world of designing and making mermaid tails!
